Okay, well if you have little ones in the house, you may be familiar with where I got my title...The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That is a fave in our house. ;)
Road trip!!! Starts tomorrow! We've been busy packing and covering our last minute obligations. We went to town for some errands and while Hubby got our minivan's oil changed, I ran into the thrift store. (its all about the mileage! gotta always think about tax season! lol) And was so happy to see my Hunt for Vintage get off to such an auspicious start!
Of course, our trip hasn't started yet, but it FEELS like I'm already on vacation. :)
I found these two Marushka wall art pieces. They're not huge but they're the first ones I've found.
In case these are new to you..I found some history of the company:
"[Richard L.] Sweet quit his teaching position in 1971 to found Marushka, a Grand Haven-based producer of affordable silk screen graphic prints that came stretched, framed and ready to be hung on the wall. The prints retailed for about $24 and were popular in condominiums and college dorms." -(from the Muskegon Chronicle)
Marushka prints are still popular today and were featured a few years back on Apartment Therapy.
If you'd like to see more Marushka prints...check out this blog.
So I'm considering this as part of the adventure! It hope it bodes well for more vintage finds!
I won't be able to post everything here on the blog...but please, if you're on Instagram...feel free to follow me there! I'll be using the hashtag #recycleistaroadtrip to organize trip posts.
