Well, here we go.
2015.
Bring. It. On.
I'm not one for 'resolutions' but January does seem to be quite the natural time to think things over and make some plans for the upcoming year.
So here are the thoughts that have been buzzing around my head recently.
Simplify. I really think that this will be the key to my getting things done this year. I know it seems like doing less would mean getting less done...but I think it will work. It's about being more selective and aware of my abilities and limitations. To that end, I closed my other blog that I recently started (The Reseller's Corner). I simply don't have time for it. And it's honestly not part of my big picture of what I want to do/be.
I'm trying to eat better, exercise more...I bet you never thought about THAT in January!! Ha. But I turn the big 4-0 this month and I need to think about it. So I need the time to think and plan for eating better, cooking better meals, hopping on the treadmill..etc.
Be more selective with social media/promoting. Let's face it. There's TONS of ways to promote your listings, reach more people, learn new selling tactics, etc.... I can't do it all. I've been trying. When it gets to the point that I'm spending more time promoting or reading about selling than actually selling....something needs to change. So I'd like to pick a few of the social media outlets and really work them and do them well. Not sure which ones it will be for sure...but probably Pinterest, Twitter, and maybe Instagram. I've been selling directly on IG, and I haven't decided if I will keep that up. It's a lot of work and the results are iffy. Sometimes I've made good money in a short time...but other times its a big fail.
I do think that blogging is valuable so I will continue with this blog. Be prepared to be overwhelmed with posts this month because I joined The Ultimate Blog Challenge. I have to do 31 posts this month. You're gonna be sick of me!
My new tagline for my main Etsy shop is "Be Green. Buy Vintage", so I'd like to develop that idea/branding a bit more. Have to brainstorm on that.
Of course there is all the usual stuff with planning on being more organized...heck I have to GET organized first, not procrastinating on my taxes, being more selective in my shopping, yada yada yada. The list goes on and on.
But I'm sure I'm on to something...I need to do LESS to do MORE! What do you think?
